Links to the Wrongfully Convicted

Free Byron Case · Byron Case was wrongfully convicted in 2002 for the 1997 murder of a former classmate. No physical evidence linked him to the crime; the only alleged eyewitness in the crime was a former girlfriend, who told multiple stories to police, offering a version that implicated Byron Case during her third stint in inpatient drug rehabilitation. Byron's public defender failed him abysmally at trial by proffering a "random stranger" theory in the slaying and neglecting to call key witnesses to testify.

Brett Hartmann, An Innocent Man on Ohio's Death Row · Brett was arrested on September 10th, 1997 for the murder of Winda D. Snipes. Brett was the person who discovered Winda, and placed a series of 911 calls to report it. Brett's family knows he is innocent, and they have the facts to prove it.

Phillip Jones · Wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for attempted murder in a case of mistaken identity. The only alleged eyewitness was a known drug addict who passed away several years ago. Phillip's family recently unearthed a contradictory statement provided by a cousin of the witness that would have exonerated Phillip, a statement prosecutors deliberately withheld from the discovery process. Phillip has been incarcerated for 18 years.

In addition to standing up against womens rights in Roe v. Wade, filed in Dallas County in 1970 and decided by the Supreme Court in 1973, former District Attorney Henry Wade was responsible for imprisoning an unknowable number of innocent people. After his death, proof was uncovered that Wade and his associates had, in many cases, intentionally overlooked or withheld evidence from the defense and jury. Henry Wade was a criminal; here's your opportunity to show the world what you think of him.
